Furniture must meet a specific set of standards and regulations to demonstrate its safety and be launched on the market. Using different test methods, Element's fire testing experts perform furniture flammability testing on a variety of products, including:

Our laboratories are equipped to perform flammability testing on full furniture, mock-ups, and individual components. We investigate reaction to fire properties such as ease of ignition, flame spread, the evolution of smoke and toxic gases, and the burning material's heat release rate. We test for resistance to open flame ignition sources and smoldering ignition sources such as cigarettes.
